Why Bamboo?

We think bamboo is the perfect alternate material for toothbrushes. It's not only naturally antibacterial, is is also resistant to mould and is the fastest growing and most versatile land plant in the world.

Bamboo is also biodegradable (YAY), which means your used toothbrush (minus the bristles) will break down naturally rather than hang around in landfill for 1000 years!

Are your bamboo products compostable?

Yes they are! That is why we LOVE bamboo so much.

We recommend that you dispose of our used toothbrushes in your compost bin or green waste bin.

First either use pliers to pull the bristles out or snap off the head entirely, and dispose of separately.

When placed in a compost the toothbrush handle typically takes approximately 3 years to completely break down when fully submerged in soil.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to dispose of your toothbrush properly.

Are the bristles biodegradable too?

Unfortunately no. You will need to remove the Vegan friendly bristles from your brush or chop the head off before placing it into your compost or green waste bin.

No bristles on the market are biodegradable at this stage, although we are working on it as we are always trying to innovate!

To find out how to dispose of our products the best way possible, please follow our guide 'How to Dispose of Your Bamboo Toothbrush Properly'.

Dentists advise to replace your toothbrush every 3 months due to build up of bacteria and damage to the bristles.

We recommend you purchase our 4 pack will supply you with a years worth of toothbrushes.

How do I care for my toothbrush?

Rinse, like you would any plastic toothbrush, remove any dried paste or debris and dry the handle. After using store your toothbrush upright in a dry area. Because bamboo is a natural material, prolonged water or sun will deteriorate it!

How can I get the best suction from the suction set?

The suction power will only work correctly if the silicone is clean. Often it will have a layer of dust on it, if it has not been used recently or has come straight from the box. The surface it adheres to must also be clean and it very important that the surface is flat.

Why can't I put the dinnerware in the dishwasher or microwave?

Using either of these for your dinnerware may not blow up your microwave or melt the silicone rings .Because bamboo is a natural material and there has been no fillers added to make the dinnerware it will deteriorate the product very quickly , causing swelling, cracks and weak points.

How is the bamboo dinnerware made?

The bamboo is firstly naturally dried, then compressing it into blocks in a giant oven. Once the blocks are compressed, they are cut into small pieces which are manually carved against a mold, all residue is used to feed the ovens! After molding comes a manual polishing stage then bamboo sealant which is an FDA approved food varnish to protect the bamboo and ensure it doesn't absorb water or colour. It is then placed back to natural resting in a climate controlled room.

Why is silicone better than plastic?

Food grade Silicone is softer than most plastics, so it's safe to use for eating utensils. Plastic can cut baby's tender mouth, whereas silicone won't.  Because silicone is far more durable than plastic is, you won't have to replace it as often. This keeps waste out of landfills.

Silicone is arguably more environmentally friendly than plastic because it is non toxic and BPA free and doesn’t leach chemicals. Just like plastic, Silicone it is not biodegradable, however it doesn't break down into smaller pieces like plastic, which means that it's much less likely to end up in our oceans get eaten by animals who mistake it for food.
